Window World's story of growth and successful franchise opportunities

In 1995, we began selling windows in a small, roadside stand in Wilmington, N.C. Our promise for doing business in those days was simple, and it’s one that still stands today: “Superior Products, Professionally Installed, at a Guaranteed Low Price.”

Today, Window World is America’s largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company, with more than 200 locally owned locations nationwide. Our national headquarters is stationed in North Wilkesboro, N.C., and we currently have stores in 48 states, with immediate plans to bring a Window World location to every state in the country.

Our Products

Our product line began with windows, but we now sell and install windows, siding, doors, and other exterior remodeling products to a nation of consumers. Having sold over 20,000,000 windows since day one, we understand the quality and value that our customers demand. As such, we are an ENERGY STAR® partner and our windows, siding, and Therma-Tru doors all carry the prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal.

Window World Gives Back

As the company grew, so too did the desire to share our successes with those in need. In 2008, we created Window World Cares®, a charitable foundation established to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Since its inception, Window World and its network of amazing store owners and employees have raised over $13 million for St. Jude. Additionally, we support the Veterans Airlift Command, a nonprofit organization that facilitates free air transportation to wounded veterans and their families.

Become Part of the Window World Story

Our steady company growth coupled with our passion to serve as many customers as possible has led to our thriving franchising program. With franchise opportunities all over the country, we continue providing more and more opportunities for people to achieve their dream of being a business owner.

Tammy Whitworth, Chairman & CEO

Serving Wilkes County, North Carolina, the community that she and her family have called home for generation, is part of what keeps Tammy driven to shepherd Window World®, America’s largest exterior remodeler, successfully into its third decade and beyond.

After attending Meredith College and earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics/Political Science degree, Tammy began her career in the renovation and remodeling industry. She and her husband, Todd, purchased their first Window World showroom in Wilmington, NC from Leon Whitworth, Todd’s father, and quickly opened their second showroom with life-long friends Darren and Michelle Kennelly in Winston-Salem, NC.

In 2007, Tammy and Todd purchased Window World, Inc., the corporate office of Window World, from Leon Whitworth. They remained steadfast in their resolve to keep the core of Window World, its family approach, a constant.

Tammy and Todd started Window World Cares®, the charitable arm of Window World, in 2008. Their eldest child, Anna Grace, was premature and spent the first days of her life in a hospital. Having experienced the strain of worrying about their child’s health, Tammy and Todd decided to partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In 2017, Window World Cares was given St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Organizational Support Award, and Tammy’s passion for the hospital has led to over $10.75 million in fundraising.

Overcoming personal tragedy, Tammy became CEO of Window World after the passing of her husband, Todd, in 2010. Since then, she has led the company in its pursuit to establish world-class training for franchisees, through profound changes in product, installation, and standards regulations, established a Board of Directors and most recently, an Advisory Council of Franchisees. Her vision for Window World remains to position Franchise Owners with the best possible tools to be successful, providing opportunity for hard-working families across the nation.
